Cody Assist
A knowledge base chatbot for your own documents.
A knowledge base chatbot answers questions from your own documents: contracts, policies and product docs. It quotes the passage it used, answers across many files at once and says when the answer isn’t there. Teams use Cody Assist to find answers without searching folders or asking colleagues.

FAQ
Common questions
How is this different from search?
Search finds documents. Assist reads them and answers the question, with the passage it used, so nobody opens ten files to find one clause.
Can we build a chatbot on our own data?
Yes, that’s what this is. Add your documents, write the instructions, then share the assistant with your team or embed it on your site.
Which files can it use?
PDF, Word, PowerPoint, websites and media, plus business tools you connect.
Who can see what?
Permissions can be set per assistant, so it only answers from the knowledge you assign to it.
Does it make things up?
It answers only from your documents and shows the source for each answer. When the documents don’t cover a question, it says so.
